HITCHHIKING CONTEST

Since my student years I organise an annual challenge - appropriately called ‘The Challenge’ - in which teams of two travel to a remote location across Europe, while using no money for transportation and lodging and no phones. Scores are based on the speed of reaching the checkpoints and end-destination as well as extraordinary achievements like lodging at a celebrity’s place or a TV appearance. To keep spirits high and allow us to appropriately thank our helpers along the way, it is allowed to spend money on food and beverages. Needless to say it’s always an adventure creating a lifetime of stories ranging from unbelievable luck to hilarious misfortunes.
